Joint Changes in Older Cats
Use jumping, grooming, posture, and litter-box access as everyday clues.

Look beyond limping
Cats with joint pain may stop using a favorite shelf, hesitate before jumping down, groom the back less, sleep in easier-to-reach places, or miss a high-sided litter box.
Make access easier today
Place food, water, and a low-entry litter box on the same level. Add a stable intermediate step to a favored perch and keep nails trimmed for traction.
Bring useful evidence
Take a short video of one normal route, note which height is avoided, and record whether the change is new, gradual, or worse after rest.
